Just for the heck of it. CMMG 9mm lower. Haven't decided upon the upper just yet.

I had the opportunity to play with the real thing, a Colt SMG in 9mm when I worked as an instructor. Fun little carbine. Had the bug for one ever since firing the SMG.

9mm AR's are cool, cheap to feed, not as loud and fast. Plus a 147 grain bullet out of a 16 inch barrel can be pushed to well over 1,400 fps and that's getting in the 357 magnum range!

I've had a Colt in 9mm for about 15 years. Never had a lick of trouble out of it. Like the others have said, cheap and fun to shoot, plus it's pretty darn accurate. I can walk a tin can plumb out of sight with open sights. Some day I'd like to put a suppressor on it. Now that would be sweet.

The only thing is that the long stick mags can be a real thumb buster to load. I don't mean they are difficult to load after the first 10-12 rounds, I mean they are almost impossible to load. Pick up some kind of loading tool. I have a Cambi-Loader made just for the stick mags and it works like a champ.

I love my Colt AR in 9mm. It would be one of the last pieces I would ever give up. It keeps me familiar with my AR's at a fraction of the cost, can shot it indoors at my pistol range, and really accurate as Tex stated above.

Same here. I got to play with a local SWAT units a couple of times. Fun to shoot and Lighter than our MP5's!

Somebody made a 9mm AR that used cheap surplus Sten gun magazines. I have a few of the mags, but I'm not sure who made the upper?
