Another probie - got the SOCOM 16, wanted the 18" Scout, but once the SOCOM was in my hands I couldn't let go and paid too much.
I want to start this rifle off right. Do you still have the lubricant spreadsheet and recommendations?

I use XF-7. Seems to work very well for me.

Ive been trying an old tube of Lubriplate 132 with the kalashikov, M14 and the 1911. Seems to do a good job, although I wonder how it does in freezing temps.

Thanks

Thanks for all the info on these threads. I've been trolling these for a while, while I was saving for my 1st M1A.
This particular thread was helpful .

I bought one of these. Because I like to stock overkill.

https://www.amazon.com/Extreme-Press...n+grease&psc=1

One was overkill for what I had planned but I thought "Hey what the heck I will give my cousin some too." Then for some reason they sent me two of them............I filled up a 50cal can to the top and put it away for some unknown reason. I guess I never want to run out or something. I also filled up another 50 cal can and gave it to a relative for his M14 lubing needs. I also filled up a .30 Cal can and gave it to my uncle for his mini 14 and M14. A 50 cal can of this stuff should lube my M14's for 3 lifetimes. I still have one and a half 5 gallon things of this grease. The grease is very slick, it has as a good translucent color, and it has decent operational temps. A .30 cal can is perfect IMO as I think its just enough for 1 lifetime.

If you want I can sell you or anyone for that matter a .30 cal can filled to the brim with this stuff for $30 plus shipping. Or you can send me your 30cal can and ill fill it up for $10 plus shipping back to you. A .30 cal ammo can of this stuff should last you a lifetime at least. I have two .30 cal cans available and one is already filled.

Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 oil on the parts that need oil. Mobil 1 synthetic grease on the parts that need grease.

Works for me.

Will this thread never die?

Add me to the Lubriplate 130A crowd.

I've been happy with it for years now.

Attachment 149994CLP 90% of the time on everything on every gun, Lubriplate is good on what needs to be greased. I don't use a lot of grease. This will work if it's what you already have.
