Were the rollers on HRT and other marked H&R bolts have parked finishes on the rollers or were the rollers left in the white. I have seen some H&R bolts that have the rollers parked the same color as the bolts and don't want to buy a reparked used one. Thanks for the help.
USGI bolts were parked, then the retainer & roller installed after. Bolts with parked rollers are not "new", but it is possible that the bolt might still be in serviceable condition. And given the current tight availability, what was reason to pass on a bolt years ago may have to be an option today. Enlarged pin hole or face pitting are reasons to scrap it, or pass on it.
I bought a used HRT Bolt from e-gunparts about 1 1/2 years ago.Its finish was the original grey green parkerizing. You could see the electro penciled magnaflux M on the underside.I recently had it reparked dark grey to match the receiver on my gun.You cannot see magnaflux mark anymore.I'ts roller on the sides where nothing rubs was the same grey green park as the rest of the bolt.Just a guess but I believe maybe HRT Bolts had the roller parked originally. All of the new in wrap TRW bolts I've seen the roller is in the white.
I have a new TRW bolt and its roller is in the white. I want a like new or new H&R bolt to go in my M1A that has a HRA op rod and HR-N trigger group. I have only seen HRT marked bolts and the rollers are parked.
On gunbroker seller PARTSFORYOU has several new out of wrap bolts WINCHESTER,HRT.TRW the HRT has a parkerized roller the others are in the white.HE'S claiming these are new . As I stated before my bolt roller was parked same as bolt it only had light wear polishing on contact points and was excellent condition. It had a large M ''magnaflux ''cratched into finish on underside now that I had the bolt reparked to match my receiver that mark is no longer visiable so I think it was original finish. It was grey/green just like the finish on chawkpilots original h&r rifle we seen on a previous post. The current price on used bolts is getting very high so better grab what you can if you want original.

I saw his HRT bolt and was thinking that they were made that way. I wanted to check first to see if he was puffing smoke up my a$$, I think his HRT bolt is used and not NIW. Buyer beware nowadays. I was burned once on W marked mags.
