Israeli IDF M21 Information Wanted

Bought a Springfield Armory receiver'd Israeli M21 awhile back and would like some historical background information if available. Receiver ser # starts as IDFxxx. Also would like to know approx time frame when it was built and how many were made. What would the correct optics be??
Thanks
Ron

Well IIRC they went on sale around the late 90's, the approx production numbers were around 600, and the scope would be a Nimrod 6x40. If you drop SAI an email they'll give you all the information you'd need. Hope this helps for now, someone will be along shortly to give some more wisdom.

This feller is in Israel and sells ex-IDF surplus:

http://www.scopetica.com/catalog/def...hp?cPath=36_21

He has the correct IDF M14 scope mounts. Used to have the 6x42 Nimrod scopes but he's been out for a while it seems. Also sells ex-IDF KAHLES ZF-95 6x42 and Zeiss Diavari ZA 1.5-6x42 scopes.

I bought a Zeiss from him, it arrived in about two weeks. Definitely ex-military scope and it shows in the wear and tear but the optics are perfect.

I have seen the Nimrod scopes on auction, usually for too much money, there's one right now on GB I think.

So you got this without a scope? Did it come with a mount?

This is all to the best of my recollection.

The KAHLES ZF-95 6x42 would be primary for the Israeli M14 Sniper Weapon System ( SWS). The Nimrods were used later and were primary on the Galil snipers ( If you can call them that).

The Mount should be this single point mount with 26mm integral rings.

I have one of those stocks ( crinkled up by SAI).

Idf m21

My IDF came through with the correct 26mm mount and a 6 x 42 Nimrod (but it was in pretty poor shape cosmetically so i had it refinished). I was thinking it should have had the ZF95 scope. Anyone have an idea of what the current fair market value may be?? Thanks for the help.

The Nim should give good service. I use the Kahles ZF on my M14 and the one thing I don't like is that there are no clicks for adjustment. The resolution is spectacular and the reticule is great but it is not a thuroughly moderne scope.

I should think $400 for used is the going rate. They do appear on ebay once in a while but the seller listed above seems to have the goods in stock and very new shape.
