Stupid question

While I was over in Iraq I bought a Synthetic GI stock from Freds. Does it/ do I need to remove the metal stock lug portion/ stock liner from inside the wood stock and put it in the synthetic?? or is the the synthetic designed not to need the stock liner? Im talking about the part the reciever locks into in the stock/ reinforces the stock for recoil, for example the JAE 100 has one that can be made of titanium so you dont need to glass bed it. Do you know what I mean??

thanks for the quick answer, I'll post pics once Im done with my mods to it, I have been working on it today, it now sports an adjustable cheek rest for using optics, and am waiting on my versa-pod front rail/sling swivel from midway. Then the painting will begin, gonna try to make it into a DMR style rifle.

PS |I also found the answer after I posted the question, "Search" is my friend LOL

Fred will also send you a bunch of paperwork with your stock.

He talks about how the synthetic is best, and one of the reasons is strength. They are so strong they do not need stock liners.

You can have lots of fun with a synthetic stock. The only limit to paint schemes is the imagination. It's also easy to fill the selector hole if desired, or pick up one of Hawk's kits for a more traditional look.

As others have stated, the metal liner is not needed for a synthetic, and the elements wont have any affects on it either.
