Hello all. I'd appreciate help in locating an online source (pdf) for the fm 23-8 manual; m14 and m14a1 marksmanship, issued in 1974. (Biggerhammer's version does not load). I have the fm 23-8 manual issued in 1965 that came with the weapon. Thanks for your help!

Hawk, thanks for the reply! The manual you cited is the 23-8 issued in 1965. This manual is not the m14 marksmanship field manual 23-8 issued in 1974. I am looking for the 23-8 1974 because it contains marksmanship information specific to the m14. If you are familiar with the fm 23-9 manual for the m-16 series rifles, the 23-8 1974 is the same thing for the m14. Bet it will make some interesting reading!

I've got one, sorry I want to keep it, rescued from the Nat'l Guard dumpster about 12 years ago.

Seems the latest change was dated 1987, iIrc, will look and post that info here.

Thanks for the replies. I've had the problem with the biggerhammer site not opening the fm since last year. That is why I posted the request for fm 23-8 1974 Marksmanship.. Any other sites or suggestions for the manual? Many thanks!

Mi cunuata is from Guantanamo, she just visited her relatives there and spent ten days in country. Thanks

Hey Men, I found some on ebay, different kinds. #2170866815 is a 1959 with change 2 dated Aug. 1962. And one #2171640299 is May 1965. Plus one more that doesnt state the year. :?:

To all those who have helped locate the fm 23-8 1974, marksmanship, I've finally located a site that has the manual available for purchase. No one has found a source for online download. The source is www.military-info.com. The manual is available for $24.00. I believe it will make an excellent reference for m14 marksmanship, and a great addition to our libraries. Again, thanks to all who helped. 308er
