the recoil on the M14 is very little. Insignificant to me at least, and even less so when it's in a large chassis like JAE or Sage.

Recoil reduction would not be a reason to lug the reciever.
The only reason in my mind to go this route is to give your bedding a longer life which in turn can give that slight accuracy improvement from perfect bedding longer life.

I would not do this for your stated reason. I probably wouldn't do for any reason.
I don't believe I stated my reason as "recoil reduction".
I know what recoil can do to the stocks and parts holding the gun in place. And was curious if only a trigger group and bedding was sufficient.

It must be 95% or more of the receivers made don't have rear lugs.

sir-
I picked-up a double lug M1A earlier this year, a pre-post, 84XXX.
I shot this animal, heavy, you wouldn't believe how heavy. like you were carrying 2 rifles, but it's only one.

I have to see Art Lappino in a couple of weeks(500 or so miles) to see what the problem
is between the gas piston/OP rod/OP rod guide. yes, it is a Krieger barrel, heavy SS,
and a McM glass stock. everything is just like any other M1A.....

-EXCEPT- the OP rod spring. the spring isn't different, just how you take the old one
out and put the new one in, and don't let the spring get away from you!
lube the bottom half of the spring -before- you re-install it, then wipe the grease off your hands and get ready- your going to need it, and extra mens hands.
the OP rod spring guide( it better be round one), the OP rod spring, are a BITCH.
the jist-OP spring has to be compressed so you can slide the OP rod spring guide
out, between your front mount and the receiver, then slide the spring out, the same way.
my receiver was bought by the USMC(Quantigo) as a receiver, then the 2 lugs were
welded on, and the rest of the rifle was built. you name it, this rifle has it.

I don't want bid you bad, but look around for a rear lug or a stocker. let the big boys
have their fun.
