Patiently waiting to complete the next rifle

I'm patiently waiting for my Bula XM21 barreled action to be screwed together and headspaced. I've been collecting parts for the past few months for this rifle, and I've got everything I need so far except the scope rings, which I will buy after I have the barreled action in hand so I can make sure to buy the right rings for my scope (Vortex Viper HST 4-16X44). The parts include a mix of USGI and Bula parts, and a Sadlak oprod spring guide and TiN piston. I also picked up a unitized (welded) gas cylinder for it, and the rifle will also wear a SEI Vortex DC flash suppressor. Although I had a GI trigger group ready to go into it, I just ordered the Bula tuned trigger group from Wolfe, so that's what will go in the rifle now, with the GI trigger group to keep as a spare.

This will be my second M14, and while I kept the first one stock in its military configuration, I want this one to be a dedicated long-range shooter with heavy bullets.

I already have a stock USGI fiberglass stock to mount the rifle in, but now I'm looking hard at the Wolfe Mod-Fib stock. Now that's what I really want!! Slim and stiff!! Looks like they're back-ordered until next month. I guess I'll have to wait and get on the list then.

Collecting all the parts for these rifles is almost as fun as putting it together and taking it shooting. And it's definitely not cheap. But it sure a lot of fun!!

And thanks to everybody here, because this forum is a great resource. I've learned more about the M14 rifle in the past 6 months on this forum than I have in the past twenty years.

Thanks from nf1e, Rich D and BadGnus

I'm a little bit behind you. I just sent my GI trigger group and TRW bolt to Mr. Wolfe, and will get one of his chrome lined MW barrels on an XM21. What barrel did you get? I especially agree with your last sentence. The knowledge here is vast and given with a generous spirit.
