I need some advice on which one.

Hi! Obviously new to the forum and need someone's wise input.
I have the choice of one of these 2 M-14's as my father in law passed away and my mother in-law said I could have one.

In what little research I've done, it seems the Winchester is the one to go with as it was manufactured in 62-63. The Fulton Armory one I don't have a clue.
Is it just a clone and the Winchester is authentic?

Please advise.
Thanks

Is the Winchester a real M-14? If so you have to make sure you have all the proper paper work from ATF for Class 3 machine gun.

are these full auto or semi?
if the winni is full, you need this form along with print cards
https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/fo...53205/download
https://www.atf.gov/distribution-center-order-form order print cards
https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?...homerun_portal nfa trusts
we need better right side pics of right rear section of receivers
fultobn armory was welding orig m14 stubs on their receivers to make retro semi autos

we are trying to determine if the winchester has one of these pieces under the stock on the receiver

Is full auto even legal in CA? I wouldn't have thought so but I have been wrong lots lately!

I didn't have time to take detailed pics as these were locked up in his walk in gun vault. I just peeked in to snap the serial #s and mfg stamps. I do know he's had the Winchester for at least 45yrs and it is original. I'll take more detailed pics this weekend. ( Or maybe I shouldn't?) As for California, It seems like nothing is legal in California unless you want to smoke pot.

Thanks from racer, unkola and MGSchindel

@Polack That would probably be a negative.

They live in AZ so there could be paperwork that I don't know about. If it is Class III, I could never get it into California anyway. I'll try and get some detailed pics when we visit this weekend.

Well AZ is a fun state but might be tough getting it into CA even if it was legal. Its hard to follow some of the laws. I read recently that it MAY be technically legal to own F/A in CA but that it would be up to the AG or some such and thus a tough slog to make happen. The Fulton probably isn't legal there either.

Good point.
Both will be illegal in California.

The Foulton could be brought to CA with a simple change of the flash hider to muzzle brake.

You guys should research what you are posting before doing so.

Personally I would either delete the posting and make sure you can find a legal way of ownership, if not dispose of it in a legal manner. Otherwise the risk is very high and simply not worth the risk of going to prison and high fines or both, but that is just me for the ATF does not see any humor in such matters at all.
