New Build

I finally got around to getting this build done. My all Winchester sans the receiver which is from our group buy with GWLA. I even put her in a Winchester stock. I would like to thank Rip (Rick Bowen) for putting her together for me. I met him a few years ago when I first got into the M14 game and before I even knew this forum existed. He told me to come here to learn and I'm glad I did. Rick also taught me some things when I built my first one from a JRA barreled receiver.

I am very pleased with this build and she shoots well. I took her to the range this week and ran about 40 rds of white box xm80 through her. I managed to get about 2 moa out of her per 5 shot group @ 100yds. Thats with my old eyes which I consider good. To many people that day so I did not wait for cease fire to retrieve my targets. I'm going to leave her as is and not even put glass on this one. Attached pics hopefully of main Winchester parts...

;;;;;

Thanks from Tommo, nf1e, XM25Ren and 1 others

Thanks for the kind words Chunker. Yep, she did MOA for me with my handloads and is destined to be a real shooter it looks like. I love those g.i. barrels, as if anyone didn't know that here yet.

All those years ago when I sold you that Winchester kit, I really didn't want to turn loose of that one. It only took a few years to get it built. (smiles)

I knew you were waiting on the right receiver for this build and went as fast as I could to get you there. It's like my Dad told my Mom one day when she asked how long it was going to take for us to finish her custom fireplace and mantle area with glass cabinets for her whatnots.....

My Dad and I were sitting on the couch watching the football game and drinking beer, the playoffs, and my Dad winked at me and told her,...."Can't you see we are busy men? We have important things to do....We can't rush into these things."....Taking another drink of his beer.....It took 6 years to finish her fireplace...... But it is a real work of art that she was very proud to have.

Congratulations on finally getting there my friend ! She is beautiful. I secretly spoke to her and called her Becky, before I shipped her out to you. But she will answer to anything, and do your bidding for you. Hope that's okay with you, that I took liberties with her.

On 2nd look I like that more, I missed out on the TFL receivers and wish I'd got one. I like the Armscorp ones too.
