Looking for a scope mount which allows using iron sights

Hey there. Finally I got my M1A NM. Very satisfied. Now I want to add a scope to my M1A. There are quite a lot of manufacturers and some of these mounts are even available here in Germany. I am looking for a mount which allows me to use the iron sights. Is there one you guys could recommend to me? I found mounts from Sadlak, A.R.M.S., Springfield, and a few "cheap" ones like UTG, etc. Which of them allows to use open sights beside the scope? Thanks for your help.

I do, it's idiot proof easy to install easy to take off and repeatable within reason.

Bassett high mount allows irons. I had 2, I have 1.
Works great. I get 36 clicks before the irons would start to be blocked.

Thanks from melomanic

You want the pic, and you want the high.

I have the bassett low, and it has been good. I think it retains zero well that if i want to use iron sight, it will take me literally 15 sec. to reconfigure. I rather have the low mount that allows me to shoot without a pad, then a high mount that can do both, but requires a pad to adjust for the height addition of the scope. My 2 cents.

Thanks from melomanic

Hello, Melomanic.
There is a Basset high mount in the PX by XM25REM for $135.00 plus shipping. Maybe something to jump on, if you want a Basset scope mount. It's priced under retail.... May safe you some funds for more ammo. Just a heads up..
Oh, there is also a Bradly cheek raiser in the PX by cwmoss for $85.00 That you may need with the high mount.

Thanks from melomanic

+1 on the Bassett Picatinney mount, high mount allows use of the irons.

You will need an adjustable check riser so you can move it up for scope use, and down for irons use.

I use a TACPRO riser.

They have a strap on adjustable riser and one that requires drilling holes through the stock.

I have the type that requires drilling the stock.

My stock is not a USGI stock so holes are not a concern.
