Since were talking about FA receivers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. SEI made 175 FA receivers, and they were machined out of a solid billet, with the selector lug. SAI made 125 FA receivers. Where their receivers machined with the selector lugs? Are were they welded? I have a SAI/Rock Island Armory conversion, they made 35. They were a sister co of SAI, owned by one of the Reese Bros.. The selector lug on mine is dovetailed, and peened in to place to the receiver heel, no welds. How where SAI factory receivers constructed?

Just curious

Mine is papered as a Springfield Armory Inc and has TIG welded lug. It was parkerized after the lug was welded. I will take it out of the EBR chassis and get some pictures of the lug as it's been requested on the first page of the post.

It always amazed me that a firearms which in semi-atuo mode would be banned in Maryland (the Democratic Peoples Republic of), is legal when it has a "fun" switch and a tax stamp! I'm wondering about the legality of the (I assume) 20-round mags that accompanied the rifle under current laws, however.

I escaped from Maryland nearly ten years ago, and will NEVER live in that state again!

Oh and, nice rifle!

Thanks for the info.. I wonder if all the SAI receivers where welded, or if all the RIA receivers where dove-tailed. BTW: mine has a lock-bar sight also.
I forgot to mention that US Anodizing has an FFL/Sot, and I believe they do Parkerizing also. You could send them the whole gun if you needed.

Here's the NOS stock and hand guards I have for the rifle. The stock needs to be cleaned and oiled if I choose to use it. I may just put a good shooter/range stock on her and call it a day.

Could you possibly post a photo of the sear lug on the receiver. It does not show up on the photo of the bottom of the receiver.
