Trigger pin protruding?

I have a GI trigger group that won't go into a GI fiberglass stock. It seems as if the trigger pin protrudes ever so slightly on the narrow end and catches on the stock. It will go into a GI walnut stock no problem. I disassembled the trigger and tried another pin that I had and it protrudes as well. I have another complete GI trigger group and the pin is flush and it goes in no problem. Is this a common issue? Do you just file the pin slightly so it doesn't protrude?

Get out the Dremel tool and make room for the pin in the stock.

Typing at the same time again!

Pin should be flush on both sides. No reason you could not shorten the pin and make it work. We can always use a bigger hammer and make it fit.

haha, yeah, a bigger hammer would probably do it. I'm just wondering why its happening at all. Yes, it's flush on the wide end.

Sounds like you have a trigger housing that someone sat on and crunched it. Just kidding. Worked on many over the years and never saw that with a USGI housing,SAI I wouldn't be surprised.

I mic'd it at the trigger pin holes and it's .001 narrower than another GI housing I have. The pin is definitely protruding more than .001 though, so I don't know what's up. Anyone know the spec for the housing width?

Always modify the cheapest and easiest to replace part. Shorten the pin and leave the stock alone.

Disassemble the trigger unit and make sure the pin is not broken.
