This is a discussion on Things you can't travel with within the The M14 forums, part of the M14 M1A Forum category; Found this display in the Inchon Airport returning from South Korea. Things that you can't fly with, in or out of country. I'll have to ...
No telling why, they had another couple display cases with car parts and counterfeit purses and . On the scope, I don't know either, but if you try to buy a scope on amazon and have it shipped to an APO/FPO, they won't ship. maybe the VHS tape is porn? Korea has a lot of random stuff like this. there's rarely an explanation in English.

So, I had 1 spent 7.62 round piece of brass in my checked luggage. I get called into a back room. "open please" I open it up and the lone female security chick finds my piece of brass. I figure it's gonna be a huge international incident. She has me write my name on a piece of paper on a clipboard. The she holds up the brass, says OK, then puts it back in my bag and I zip it up and go on to my flight.
My second Viet Nam tour, about 1/4 of my battalion got busted for pot. Two guys got caught selling over the counter at the E-club, and they squealed big time to get their rock-breaking time reduced. We were just about to rotate, and a non-com had to watch everyone pack their sea bag, then it went to security. They walked by me, looked and said "pack it" and walked away. I could have brought back a sea bag of opium. A side note, almost all the buyers got Marine lawyers, and got good discharges.
