First M1A

I got the stock so I can see through the scope, stippled the grip and forearm, painted the rifle, the bolt engraved with our flag and had the trigger group worked. I just need to SHOOT IT.
With Respect,
Alvin

Welcome on board Alvin55, pull up an old ammunition crate and sit awhile. This here Gun Board is a great place for information on our beloved M14 Battlerifle and military surplus ammunition for feeding her. Again welcome on board and have yourself a great week. Thanks for the pictures, I love your built-in cheek rest on the stock!

Guys,
thank you very much for all the help you gave before I bought the weapon. This is the best form page I have ever been in.
Thanks again for having me.
With Respect,
Alvin

Do you guys think I should put wood on top of the barrel. I have a nice piece almost finished, but the more I look at the coated plastic, the more I like it.

it is a stock that came on the rifle. I found a man named Carpenter that did the work on the stock but left the finishing to me. If you want his address and numbers I will get it for you. Tell him Alvin told you to call and he will go up 50%

Welcome from CT.
Great job on the setup.
You might consider some different rings and drop the altitude of your scope by at least an inch. Sure would improve performance.

Nice rifle, and welcome. Look at the GI vented hand guards. I like the one I got from TreelineM14.
