And unfortunately more and more masters in this field are also going the way of the dodo.

Yep, did the same thing.

Found his website 5 years ago and didn't have the money.

Just about the time the money came available, he retired from the stock business.

I planned on a full stock build too, but also sat on my butt to long. I did get him to make me a walnut handguard to match my highly figured walnut gi stock. It matches great and looks very nice.
I got lucky a week or so ago and was able to buy an E2 clone he made in laminated nutmeg color. It is not the figured wood I wanted, but it is very nice. It is for a future build, still undecided on all the details.

Beautiful stocks! The only down fall to having such a nice stock is making sure not to damage it....

You have shown your age as i did.
I was counseled that "sick" means "cool" now. I don't get it.

Totally agree on Tony being an artist. I have not found another craftsman like him.
Easy to talk with too. Maybe one day, he'll be back!

My most favorite Tony stock... Tiger birch E2

My most used... Camo Laminate

Like ya'll, this is the one that got away... He retired before i could jump.

Yes sir, I did! :-) I'm just now coming around to "bad" means "good" - after 45 years of hearing it.

Some beautiful and unique stocks. I'm amazed at the talent! Folks who can't do certain things really appreciate those who can.

Thanks from hytekrednek

I too was late ordering , I wanted a grey laminate E-2 style with few of his custom tricks thrown in.
He had a truly unbelievable portfolio of his past work on his site ,possibly a 100 or more,
If I totaled up all the time I spent in awe it would be measured in hours.
I only wish I'd have screen saved each and every photo , talk about mind blowing,
I don't bestow artist standard easily , LAW483 defined the word.
It's a damn shame he didn't have an apprentice or two.

I keep hearing "that thing is off the chain"! Wut? is my toilet lever broke? New and different sayings will always be "cool"
The one thing I noticed is that the new saying must confuse older people to be considered "hip".

Tony's stocks will become legendary, even more than they are.
I too would like to see him come back to making them, but I respect his right to retire. He earned it.
Maybe someone will fill the void and start making custom M14 stocks close to the level Tony did.

...
I picked up this one from a fellow member here back in 2012.
Really had to dig thru the archives but i remembered i had a dark gray laminate.
That previous hunter wore that stock well... They are VERY weather resistant.

Wheelin to da woods!

Little fork horn fer the reward...

A triple bypass got in the way of mounting this awesome Tony stock.
Ugly green laminate E2 for medium barrels with handguard and fancy grip contour.
A shame i never did finish that build.

Thanks from Tommo, ray55classic and hytekrednek
