My New to me M1A with Video of 1st range outing

Used, 2nd M1A.

I bought it cause price was right, it is (was) light (no med hvy barrel).

I intended to run a scope on it, but otherwise keep it light...then i got bored...kept looking at Mcmillan stocks, but frustrated due to lack of information on McMillan M3A stock weight...much heavier than i anticipated.

Specs so far.

M1A standard.
Mcmillan M3A stock
Arms #18 mount
Sadlak TiNi gas piston
Sadlak Op rod guide
SEI extended mag release
SEI Tactical mag catch
Schuster Bored & Vented gas plug

I haven't decided on the optic. I'm leaning towards putting my Nightforce 4-14 FFP scope on it...

Oh yeah, here you go...

Here is a video of transforming the M1A from as-purchased into it's current configuration...

Here is a video of getting the M1A sighted in...

That's an awesome rifle. Don't be discouraged by the McMillan's weight, it is like a tank. I had one on my M1A and I loved it until I decided to upgrade and get a J.A.E.-100 G2.

You had me at McMillan. Just something about them says "serious shooter" to me. My ultimate build will have a bedded McMillan stock.

I really like that McMillan camo pattern. Been thinking of buying a beater usgi fiberglass and trying to duplicate it best I can. What color handguard?

Tell us about the silencer . I have an AAC cyclone but am hesitant about putting it on my m1a .it works great on bolt guns I guess I am just too m1 a green at this point to start messing with it too much but I would like to hear how you did yours it it's very tasteful as they say .

Now that is a serious rifle. Looking real good. You wanted some weight training didn't you?

It's not hard to turn a 9 lb battle rifle into a 20 lb work of art.

Thanks for the kind words all.

The suppressor is a Thunderbeast 30P-1.

Handguard is the SAI OD green handguard. Complements the McMillan stock very well.

Nice rifle and shooting.

I thought McMillan stocks have to be bedded? And when I say "have to be bedded," I don't mean it won't work, but that they intentionally leave free space for glass.
