There's nothing wrong with the Fulton receivers. Several people here use them almost exclusively for their builds with barely any hiccups. I would say it was very smart to get a Fulton receiver. The Rock-Ola receivers just provide another option in the M14 game.

do you plan on building up the receiver yourself? from what i hear fultons are good receivers. rockola receivers are good receivers as well and anyone with good mechanical skills and experience building m14's should be able to build a nice rifle out of them. I really enjoy working on m14's and more often than not there will be some areas that need a little work especially on forged receivers. These are very difficult receivers to make and the most difficult way of making them is machining them from a forging or billet so i give alot of credit to james river for doing as good of job as they did. personally I wouldnt trade this receiver for a fulton

Hey Boomer,
Thanks for the great pics and review of this new M14 receiver. Be sure to keep us posted on this build.

I enjoyed talking to you the other day,and if you need a complete rear sight assembly, send me a PM.

thanks man I appreciate that, it was nice speaking with you as well. I will definitely be reporting on the build. Another member I spoke with today built his receiver up at Elmer balances shop and the build report was very positive. James river is giving their all to produce a great receiver. I've gotten pm's from people involved with this project inquiring about what needs to be tweaked. That shows me that they really care about what builders think even no name builders like myself. I do need a rear sight and I'll shoot ya a pm. Thanks for looking out

my and brycom will be barreling this receiver up first thing tomorrow. I gotta give a big shout out and thanks to jersey devil for hooking me up really nice for a trw sai takeoff barrel. the barrel had been previously turned most likely for the sai receiver it was previously installed on and it has the perfect amount of draw by hand so that will save me the work of turning it. I couldnt have found a better barrel match for this receiver. whoooo hoooo! thanks jersy devil. its gonna headspace perfectly, with a nat field reject guage the bolt is .112 from closing with the draw that it has by hand

Thanks from Jersey Devil

Boomer, My receiver is a handful past yours. My FP is spec also and clears ok but I don't think by more than a couple of thousands. See pix.

Boomer thanks for posting all the pics and info! It's interesting stuff and for the first time, this receiver makes me want to move beyond my SAI. I can't wait to see how it performs for you and others.

Thanks from boomer1983
