I had an old AR15 DPMS Oracle that was sitting in the closet collecting dust. Decided to make some money and did a quick sale on it. Went over to a LGS today and found a Polytech M14 on consignment for $1200. Looks like it has seen very little ,if no action. I figured it was worth a shot, did some research before I bought it and I know there can be some issues with the bolts. Anything else to look for, recommended upgrades? Gotta love CA and the 10 day wait, 9 more to go. Thanks for the input guys.
In regards to your upgrade request... the upgrades will depend upon what you wish to do with said rifle.
Bipod
Scope
Bedding
National Match/NM parts (if possible on a Polytech iteration)
All those are optional upgrades of course so any upgrades you make will be more a reflection of what you want moreso than what you really need.
Thanks for the reply. I am not quite sure what I want to do with it yet. I was more looking if there was any PM I should do on it. It looks solid, but who knows until you get it out to the range.
Ya, I shoot at the Los Angeles Shooting Range myself (which is located on Little Tujunga Canyon Road).
Ever since shooting there, I've been using an Atlas bipod and a Leupold mildot scope on my M1A/M14. These two items make it much easier to shoot/hit targets at 1,000 yards and beyond range.
