Hard to find the metal stand alone. Not impossible but hard.

I'd give a hundred dollars for it, I'd have to think twice at two hundred, as was said before the little stuff is going to be hard to find,

So you think I should pass since the metal is that hard to find, he is looking for $200.

I think it depends on what you want. If you want an all correct USGI stock then listen to the other guys. I bought an E2 stock and dropped my scout in it and I love it. I'm used to rifles with a pistol grip so it's much more natural to me so I have a lot more fun shooting it and its a nice looking stock. It just depends on what you're looking for.

the stocks themselves are nice, I've had several over the years and keep selling them off because for the price of a complete stock I can darned near buy a decent pistol,
I now have an E2 stock with no hardware on it and a repro buttpad with a short rail under the handguard and love it,

if you're not looking to go the whole GI route then it is worth what you're willing to pay, the hunt for the GI hardware would put you beyond a reasonable budget

I say at two hundred dollars and a repro buttpad for $20.00 and you;d have a very nice comfortable shooter

Cheaper would be better

Yea, I'd pass, finding all the parts might take years. Better to buy it with all the parts, they come up regularly both here and on gunbroker.

There is a member here who has an original folding front grip assembly,,cost is $300. I've not seen any original GI butt plate assemblies for sale in MANY MANY years. So I can't even try to estimate a cost for one.A repro rubber butt,2 plugs and hinge piece is available from a seller who advertises on CMP and Strumgewehr who I have done a lot of business with and he's really, really good to go,but you will still need a flapper.
Add that to the $200 for the stripped stock and you're way up there.
