I am very happy with my Atlas Bipod. You will need to get the rail adaptor that goes on the end of the stock.

Also the search engine has lots of great info, this question is asked ALOT.

Thanks from 4Quangs

I use a Harris BRMS also found as SBRM. It's one of their bench rest models with notches that adjusts from 6-9 inches and swivels. You can check out their website below. Can't go wrong with a Harris or this model. Hope that helps.

Save yourself a ton of money, I've had the Harris Bipod, not to long ago I picked up the UTG tactical Harris knock off. It's almost the same exact thing and only costs about $33.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details

it comes with the adapters for Picatinny and standard mounting.

I have a Long Range Accuracy bipod ( http://www.lraccuracy.com/ )on my 50 bmg and it is awesome; very expensive ($450) but awesome. I do not have a bipod on my M1A but plan to get one at some point, so I can't wait to see what people here are using.

Has anyone used the Sinclair Tactical Bipod? Here are a couple of links to it:

Sure looks like a heck of a nice unit. Buy once cry once.

CAVman thanks for the link. I especially like the pics of the Atlas bipods but it says on their website they are no longer selling to civilians due to a military contract. I am glad to see our military is getting top notch equipment; hopefully they will be selling to civilians again in the future. I have not seen a bipod in the price range of the Atlas that has all the features it has; pan, cant, and multiple leg adjustments.

If you shop around on the 'net' carefully, you can often find the GG&G's with a significant discount from MSRP!
I did...I have a real 'aversion' to paying MSRP when that same exact product can often be found at 20-35% Lower on other sites...
The amount of B.S. on the Internet is Amazing where one site lists a product at MSRP minus $5 and another at MSRP minus $50! And both claim it's the deepest discount out here I have even seen sites Higher Than MSRP... I have saved boo-coo bucks being persistent!
With any significant purchase, I really try to do my 'internet homework'...I will check the hated ebay, Amazon, Best Buys...
I will use Different Search Engines, which sometimes DO in fact provide different results...Not just Google, but my personal favorite, Excite.com
Anyway...a guy should not just assume the MSRP is THE PRICE!
Good Luck!

I looked at the LRA online before. The LRA caught my attention because it reminds me of factory bipod on my TRG with the higher & more stable pivot point. Just installed the Accu-shot forward rail on that rifle so I could do an A-B test of the factory TRG vs Atlas on that platform.

Have you had the chance to test it side-by-side against the Atlas? The LRA looks awesome but I fnd myself wondering how much better it is at 2x the cost (standard Atlas runs $220 vs $450 ... QD option runs $280 vs $530)

Back to OP -- I started life running Harris S-BRM with t-nuts.com lock levers. Could never get over the ugly factor of the Harris. I sold all but one (for field/hunting), bought a few Atlas V8.1 with ADM QD mount and never looked back.

Andy

I'm running the TangoDown ACB-4 and am happy with it. I looked at a lot of bipods before choosing, it had all the features I wanted. Marines 84-88 has one for sell at a really good price in the PX/BX, worth a look.

Hamstur, no I have not had the opportunity to test the LRA side by side with an Atlas. Yes, it is very expensive and on a platform like the M1A or normal sized bolt action, it might be overkill. For sure it is top notch quality and in my opinion, it is the best bipod for a 25# 50 bmg as it has a wide stance, it is easily adjustable, and it is very sturdy. For that application, I have seen no equals. There is absolutely no problem with "bipod hop" on my 50 and with a narrower stance, it would probably be more of a problem. I wish I could compare the LRA, Atlas, and Sinclair Tactical side by side; they all look like great bipods for an M1A. I see that Midway has the Atlas on backorder so maybe they will be available again to us civilians.

Bobro bipods are back in stock at Shooters Den. These are the design that GGG copied. Picatinny rail required for mounting.

Atlas is my bipod of choice. I dropped Harris all together after getting one of those.
