Looking to buy this http://www.ameriglo.net/catalog/sigh...ghts/m14-/-m1a

Anyone with any experience with one, is it worth it?

I'm looking at the very same one from Brownell's.

Only thing ive been able to read on it is that the post is a bit fat, might not be a good solution if you like to shoot open sights with any range. Many of the website descriptions say its for CQB, quick acquisition.

How does that compare to this, other than the shape and price? http://www.nokick.com/M_14_Tritium_B...0m14-tb-fs.htm

I personally like the bar better than the dot, I think. The post width is .095", but I don't know what the tritium dot or USGI post widths are.

Just had to show me that, I like that better too. Still a little too fat though.
Just found out the Ameriglo post width is .096". Again too fat for my liking.

I have one, don't use it anymore. Got the SEI tritium bar version.

I suppose you could carefully file down the sides, right? Even if it's not exactly centered, you could always adjust it. I haven't tried it yet but I don't think the width will bother me.

If you think about it though, the tritium bar is almost the equivalent of a smaller post, if accuracy is what you're worrying about. If it's the sight picture covering up the target that's your problem, then I guess we're back to filing
