Ya the best thing to do would be to sell the thing as buyer beware on gun broker other than that i would not trust it unless you would chamber it in a smaller round but thats a whole different discussen and could get extremely expensive.

That sounds about right, looking at the front piece of the the front lug i have looks like it snapped leaving a nub on the receiver and once that occurred it looks like the machined the rear lug off and the remainder of the front , but wasnt done cleanly, the pictures make it look like he cleaned it up with a angle grinder but i doesnt look as bad in my hand , i think the bare metal makes it look worse most of the crappy cleaning up is where the connecter lock pin goes in the other side is pretty solid, i think it will retain the pin just fine, for perspective views i spay painted a light flat black layer over the bare metal it doesnt look as bad in pictures now

I agree with that the paint kind of maskes the bad grinding but i still wouldn't use it after having a polytec receaver seperating in my face i worry a little to much. If you would try the whole rebarrleing in a diferent cartridge i would go with a .243 it would be very unique and differnet. I would do that myself but dont have enoug money to try that.

the receiver was just a addition to the parts i got, im not really attached i will let someone else start a project, i appreciate the input, the only part that seem thinner is where the connecter pin goes how much pressure is put on that section? i wonder its the part highlighted in the pic

Alot when you think about it that pin has to bear the presser of the op rod, spring and guide being pushed back during cycling of the bolt.

i think there is enough metal there to do so but i dont want to strip my crazy horse down that much to compare them, i see your point though, in my mind i still want to take this build on but two builds at the same time gives me a head ache gotta alot of inquiries already to take it off my hands, just gonna have to do it too much going on right now
