| Oh Boy! My M-14 Parst Kit from The CMP Just arrived today!
Just in from Alabama. I will post photos later this evening. Right now just opened a sealed box containing all the parts as offered. The only thing wrong is the buttplate got pounded to hell.
The stock is not bad for average wear.
Operating rod looks 85% - 90% or better finish - HRA
Trigger group about 85% or better with code 7267030 66116
Flash supp is drop forged and rings like a bell when tapped.
Rear sight assembly complete and looks mint.
A lot of small parts - castle nut looks new.
While not a all TRW or Winchester, they average VG++ and will serve me well as the basis of my build with my Criterion Barrel and an LRB Receiver.
Photos on the way.....

Right on the money, 711! Congrats on a great CMP kit score.
Can't wait to see the photos.
I can all but guarantee that the nice ladies at CMP customer service will mail you a new buttplate, as long as you ask them nicely. :)

Thanks for the feedback 711 - cant wait for the eye candy. Sounds like you got a nice one. I just ordered mine end of last week (requested TRW) - hopefully the parts will be in as good of a condition as yours.
Best
Robert

Good for you, I'm still battling for replacement parts from my parts kit.
OPROD and lock screw were hammered dog poo.
Hopefully CMP will replace and make good, still awaiting email.

OH FRED, WHERE ART THOU ???

Judging by the pictures you got a bunch of good parts in fact much nicer than the one I bought from LRB last year. I still have mine laying on the shelf out in the shop since I haven't decided what I want to do with it. The stock that came with mine isn't fit to use for stove wood. Luckily I've picked up several spare USGI stocks from CMP South. I plan to go over to Anniston again in a couple of weeks and see what they have that I might be interested in.
By the way, how much did you have to pay for your kit?

This was the $600.00 CMP Grade A kit online.
Someone mentioned "How's the spline on the trigger group housing? How it been buggered up or peened at all? " What is the spline, and what should I be looking at?
Thanks for your enthusiasm,
