Are you asking what mods of parts are on a USGI NM Garand?
stock may or may not be bedded
NM front, rear sights
NM gas cylinder
NM op rod
trigger work
None of the mods affects durability

http://www.arringtonaccuracy.com/m14m1.htm

contains goood info about the various modifications that are done for an NM rifle.

For 'general M1 accuracy' concerns I'd start with 2 items -
1) Firm lockup of the trigger guard so the receiver is solidly positioned in the stock.
2) A trigger-pull that has a reliable and predictable 'release pressure' for the 2nd stage, and which has just a tiny amount of 2nd stage creep before release. Always HOLD the trigger fully rearward until recoil has stopped, and then fully release it to begin the next shot.

This is a sort of confusing issue since there are Springfield Armory NM modifications - which happened to evolve from the 50's until 1963 - and modification made by service teams or other match armorers. Also, there is more than one method of performing some mods - like unitizing the front handguard. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is more than a list, it is more like a history book. The late Major Dick Culver had written a rather lengthy draft document detailing much of the history of the NM M1 rifles but unfortunately it was never published. Bob Sejas has also written articles in the Garand Collectors Association Journal detailing the changes made each year to the SA built NM rifles.

Just talked to Phil last week and he's doing well - still working on rifles from customers in his shop...
