Make your own. Simple for me, should be a breeze for someone with your skill set.

I made my own by cutting a regular clip with a fine tooth jeweler's saw.
Not easy because the clip is spring steel and thin ....

The IMPORTANT part is that the rear of the clip has to be cut-away enough so that the extractor groove on the case doesn't get caught.

The commercial versions have more cuts, but mine has worked fine for many years. Using a bullet tip to remove doesn't work, so I use the flat=blade screwdrver that fits the gas plug and rear sight.

I used this method. Used a dremel with a cut off wheel.

Works great and no tools required to remove it.

Good luck!

Art, I purchased a Garand single-loader from AmmoGarand.com. Prompt shipping and reasonably priced. It works just fine and will probably outlast me and the rifle. Works as advertised -highly recommend. (I have no connection with Rob at GarandAmmo other than being a steady customer.)

Mine is commercial made, had it for many years always worked fine. They aren't that expensive, I would just buy one and save the tedious fitting and filing.

They aren't too expensive, and the work well for the most part... I'd just buy one....

I bought two from fulton armory a few years back... they work fine and for the few bucks that they cost, i can't see spending hours trying to get it right unless you simply are bored and feel like it.

I have too second this, I no longer pay for SLED's. The commercial ones are a pain too load the modified ones also take less thumb pressure too load and are easier too remove with no screwdriver needed.

With a Dremil tool its about a 10min affair too make one.
