Angry Problems with Fulton Armory

I have been busting my butt for a week trying to spend almost $3000 with Fulton Armory to purchase on of their M1 Garand Peerless rifles.

I can get no info as to if it is even ordered, what the spec was that was finally ordered, no info....period.

I ordered an M1 Carbine for my wife about 5 years ago, which was perfect. They still have my old e-mail address, even though I registered under my new address. When I called them, they found the order with the number they gave me when I ordered on line (they would not take an order over the phone. They already hit my AMEX for the deposit, which is not a problem, but I can't verify what I ordered, which makes me nervous.

I went in today with both the old and the new registration and was told there were no new orders.

I sent them an e-mail that if they can't clear this up, I WILL cancel the order and find someone else t build me a "new" M1 Garand.

Any ideas?

WW

They build good rifles. Good with the public - not so much.

Call...they will get you squared away. They build excellent rifles. You can Buy a service grade from CMP 2011 back ( new stuff not so good)and have it built up...about 1500.00 in work and parts. You can't shoot that fulton in CMP matches as I recall...GI Issue only.

Good Luck! Why wouldn't you simply buy one specials from the CMP and have their custom shop do the work you want? I would think that they would be way less expensive than Fulton.

Agree.

F.A.'s M1s are both overpriced and overrated.

Thanks from Phil McGrath, nf1e and dist1646

widwsel, Don't let the shade some of my fellow M14 Forum members are throwing at FA discourage you, they are a good family run company and produce excellent rifles. Give them a call, I like to talk to Clint Jr., and explain what's going on, I'm sure they can get your order back on the right track. Happy shooting.

Finally got through and got it resolved. Too long of a boring story to quote here, but they agreed they have some fixing to do on their order process.

In my experience, FA is slow to process orders. In a world where it's not uncommon to place an order and have it shipped the same day, Fulton seems to take about a week to box up even simple parts and ship them out.

Unfortunate, but that's how it is.

that's clearly a way to run a business where customers are typically loyal to certain brands.......

I can see it now at the board meeting "let's piss on the people that pay us"---"that's brilliant Johnson"

Many companies run this way, I'd name a few but one of them might feel the need to take legal action so I'll take the high road.

That's not my experience, I've placed 3 parts orders with Fulton in the past 14-months and all of them arrived at my door within 7-8 days via ground freight and I'm in California.

I bought a barreled receiver (rear-lugged M14/M1A receiver w/a stainless steel Krieger med. weight barrel) from Fulton at the end of December 2014, sent them my TRW bolt the first week of January and had the headspaced assembly in my hands before the end of January 2015.

I am sure that Fulton Armory has "dropped the ball" over the years, but certainly not as many times as others I read about on this forum. Have found Fulton Armory to be dedicated builders and honest folks to do business regarding the types of firearms they offer to the marketplace. Few and I mean few mfg.'s of M14 civilian versions or their other offerings smack of the quality in fit and finish as a Fulton Armory, juts my opinion and experience. Their firearms are built with care and seriously doubt you will see them on the shelf at "wally world."

F.A. has problems. They were better than S.A. for many years, that's true, but now their Q.C. is getting comparative, and the comparison ain't good.

I have ordered m1a parts from FA over the years and I always had very good service from them.
As I recall my orders were always sent within a few days.
