I'm asking because I'm hugely stock-up on Varget. Thanks!
We love it, load it up and see for yourself.

I've always heard that varget is almost like a short cut, temp stable, version of 4064. For some reason 4064 meters better for me than varget. I've got maybe a pound of varget left for loading the occasional hunting round. I agree with others that an adjustable gas plug isn't needed. A waste of money if loading your own.
Varget meters better for Me than 4064's does, my 7.62 M1 rifle also likes 4320 under a 168.

No comparison IMO, Varget sticks are like half the length of 4064. Trying to meter 4064 through my RCBS Uniflow drum dispenser is like chopping up matchsticks ! I dropped the big coin and bought the RCBS Chargemaster 1500 combo a few years ago, and let me tell you this... best dam $320 any stick powder handloader will ever spend ! I actually still use my Uniflow drum for ball powders such as W748 as the manual drum dispenser is actually faster than the Chargemaster 1500.

I like Varget too. My load is WLR, 46.0gns, HRN168/308 match.

This load shoots awesome in my CPM M1.

I should have taken a picture of my sighter target at a 200yds CMP match recently. First sighter was 9 at noon. The next 1/2 to the right of it. Down two clicks, then 3 Xs all within an inch of each other.

Hornady 155 grain A Max bullets over 46.0 grains of H4895 is very accurate (read that as sub 2'' groups at 100 yards) in all 4 of my M1's. No need for heavier bullets unless you're shooting beyond 800 yards. Ditch the adjustable gas plug. I've never needed one in over 30 years of shooting the M1 rifle.
