OK. I've been bit.

I'm already thinking about my next Garand and I haven't EVEN been to the range with this one yet. I'll have to make some smaller purchases like clips and a pig sticker in the meantime. Where can I find the clips? I'd also like to get a couple of 2 round and one I can use for single loading during Garand matches. Also I'd like to get a correct bayonet for my HRA. I'd appreciate some guidance.

TIA,
Marty

The M5 and M5A1's were being issued when your rifle was made, although an M1, M1905, or an M1905E1 would fit. The CMP is the cheap source for a pig sticker while they last.

Study up on Bayonets here: http://www.usmilitaryknives.com/bayonet_points.htm

Fulton armory carries bayonets, clips, and Tetra Gun Grease, a much better grease than lubriplate.

Where are you in Mississippi? We have lots of Garand lovers!

Yeah, they should have given you an account and password with your order notification. I have been wondering around in the E store there since I got my email. (order is still not processed apparently)

ITs a little tough to buy into though since they don't show pics, but I guess with their supply level (as with the rifles), they could never post pics without a full time support team to handle just that. I just like to see the bayonet before I buy it, wish we could do the same with the mail orders...

Which reminds me, SOMEBODY PROMISED US PICTURES!

Maybe these should all be going over in Steel and Wood too now that I am thinking about it.

ppcshooter,

Are you going to shoot CMP John C. Garand matches?

It's actually held up I-55 off the Bogue Chitto exit. Make sure to bring your affidavit if it's not on file already.

I've got clips running out my ears, I'll bring you some, no charge. If there is anything else you need for the match, let me know. We can squad opposite each other and you can use my mat and scope.

We had a lot of fun at the last one.

I've had an account with CMP for the estore for over a year. Been buying little things like slings.

I've been bowed up with Nursing School. It'll probably be Sunday morning before I can take pics. I have a weekend class this weekend. Starts Friday night 6-10:30. Have to be back Saturday 8am-7:30 pm then Sunday is 1:30-6:30pm. Little rough but two weekends of class to knock this course out of the park then I don't have to concentrate on anything but Nursing. Nursing only equals 10 credits and we have to be a full time student. So you try to pick a hopefully easy course to fill the gap. Give me a little time and I'll post some pics. Hell, I haven't even had a chance to degrease it yet.

Thanks for the offer Phillip. I really appreciate it. I live in Lucedale. I started getting ready for High Power back in '05 then Katrina took most of my stuff. Been slowly buying stuff when I could afford it. Doug Bowser knows me. I go over there on the odd Monday to shoot air pistols at the Edna Drive range. I'll have to admit I like the members of the Southwest Gun Club better than a lot of the guys at the old club I was a member of.
