Hello all,
I just picked up a lot of M80 ball pulled bullets. Does anyone have any safe load data for the M1 Garand? I just want something safe, not a barn burner. My rifle is a awesome plinker, but not match or a comp gun of any sort. I have 5-6 lbs of Accurate 2230C sitting around. I would think I could get this stuff to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I know other powders are probably more appropriate, but this is what I have currently.

2230C works well in my M1's with Win. 147, Horn 150 and any 150-155 Match bullet. I settled on 44.5gr. in a LC case and WLR primer. Close to M2 ball velocity, my guess 2650-2700 fps. Cycles just fine in both my WWII CMP Garands and if I do my part all in the black @300yds. Far from a barn burner IMO. Burns close to 2460, WC844 & 846. Very appropriate for the gas system and yes as clean as any ball powder. Have also used it with the LC 174gr. M72 bullet with the same charge. But is more suited for the M2/M80 weight projectiles IMO.
