I have been hunting with a BLR in 308 for a couple of decades now. My current load is some 180 gr Hornady round nose bullets I bought in 72. I have been using this load for 4 years now when I hunt deep cover. I had forgotten how hard a big round nose hits in the woods!

Same trip same rifle and load

Here is an E Texas buck

Nice pig! Looks like an accurate enough rifle.

They are a great rifle that will be used in the forrest with a chance of a shot down a right away or field. Works great in a stand or sitting on a log.

If I was to be hunting open country it would not be my prime choice. A good bolt gun with a nicer trigger would be my choice. 25-06 or 300 WM.

The BLR holds a good 1.5" for 4 shots after that it opens up.

Another BLR hunter here. Mine's a Lightning in 358 Win; great woods rifle! I broke it in on a 6 point bull elk last fall. It could use a trigger job, but has become my newest favorite :-).

Haven't hunted with mine yet. Still doing "load development." Mine is a .257 Roberts. A pic from a range trip earlier this spring:

I've had mine in .243win for about 15 years. It's tough to beat for chasing Whitetails in and out of the woods.

I love my BLR in .308. It's my favorite hunting rifle ever. I normally use Remington 150 gr. Core-lok in it same as my M1A for hunting. I've shot mule deer at 300 yards with it and below is a pic of a coyote I shot off the back porch at 200 yards.
