Anyone Used NEF Handi-Rifle in .308?

Thinking seriously about getting a NEF Handi-rifle (single-shot break-open rifle) in .308.

I had the same rifle in .223 that was a real tack-driver, and I was wondering if anyone on these forums could tell me about their experience with this rifle in .308.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks - Patrick

I have a 223 as well. I bought it as a beater truck gun....well 1" at 200m made it a bit more than a beater...it is UGLY though. The simple fact is they shoot what eve caliber you have.

Thumbs up

try the HR forum at greybeard outdoors lots of info on the handi rifle in 308. found out how to do a trigger job on my 45-70 handi. from a link there. got trigger down to about 3.5#s and lots of accuracy tips. I wouldn't hesitate to get another handi. these little rifles shoot well, easy to work on, affordable. My state allows the .40 cal and up handi rifles for use during the primative arms season, they are treated just like muzzleloaders. Its a wonderful thing to not have to do all that black powder cleaning mess.

My son's .243 is a great shooter!

I have a customer who has a .308 and has nothing but good to say about it.

If you lived closer, I'd let you pick mine up and try it out. I haven't had time to wring it out properly. I put some steel cased wolf through it and had to tap out most of the cases with a cleaning rod, but had no problems with brass cased ammo. Looks like others have reported similar things at Graybeard. I like the rifle.
