This is great. Thanks goes to you and to bula for continuing to add innovative products to the market for our favored rifle. 20-19.25" gets me vote. For the 5r/20 rifling in the newer barrels are there any plans to offer this with 1/10 twist or will it remain 1/11? I look forward to seeing the drawing for this barrel and gas system. Will the new gas cylinder have any provision for it to be adjustable, or will we still be relying on schuster style plugs to handle this? I was just looking to buy some parts for my 308 ar build, but with new parts coming out for the m14 family that thing looks like it may find itself on the back burner.

Anybody been up on Jon's site recently? Just went up to get the PDF work order to fill out getting ready to UPS some work. Part of it a ModFIb which (referred to before) as temporarily unavailable (?). Anyway, the main links are lit up RED X and Norton blocked the site's access. Anybody else or maybe just a Norton AV update bugged out? And the ModFIb, did Jon loose the guy doing them?

A 20" version of the standard weight match with the 5r rifling would be the ultimate modernized configuration- I agree. That would also make for a handy barrel length, slightly stiffer due to shorter length along with the upgrades to the rifling and profile.

7n6 I will be doing a 20 inch chop on 1 of the WMSW when I receive it and threading it to 1/2 x 28. This will allow me to use a variety of brakes or Flash hiders. If I want to use a 5/8 x 24 threading, there is adapters available.

That would be nice as well.

Are you waiting on a McMillan fiberglass stock? I've had an A-5 inletted for a Defiance Deviant Long Tactical Single Shot Action on order for 4 months. I did get a an adjustable cheek piece (thumb wheel) and a 3-way adjustable butt pad, so adding the hardware was a couple of extra stops inside the plant during the manufacturing process. McMillan doesn't get in a hurry.

For that matter, neither does Defiance Actions (10-month wait).

No, it is a John Wolfe stock. But I do have several McMillan stocks. They are good stocks.

Up until I discover John Wolfe on this site the only stocks I used for a build are McMillan. However, I now think his material quality is as good as it gets.

That is the barrel for me! I saw a 20 inch option in the drop down menu a couple of days ago when I was on the site. Need to ask john whether these will be an M14 style threading or something else, such as no threading or standard threads.

I haven't seen that. You sure you're not thinking of the 5R/20 med wt 22" barrel?

No I am not thinking of the med weight. It is in the drop down when you check the barrel length option. It is the last box on the bottom.

Yup it's in there, it's a drop down box under barrel length for both the 22 and 18 inch wmsw barrel. I'm really looking forward to see what happens with this new gas cylinder. If it were to becomes available in both wmmw and wmsw you could order whatever length you wanted say a 22 inch and if you decide later you want to hack off three inches it's no big deal. Any decent gunsmith can do this and you have a huge selection of muzzle devices to pick from for .30 with a 5/8 24 thread because you have the material up front past the gas system to work with.
