| M14 in video games
Taking a clue from the "M14 in movies" thread.
You guys know of any good games featuring the m14?
Call of Duty 4 has both the M14, and the M21. Both of which are used very often.

That was all I wanted to use in Call of Duty 4. In the game mode it only comes with a 10 rnd mag though.
Ghost Recon, Advanced Warfighter has the 14. Super accurate and super powerful.
Is there any other games for the XBox 360 that have the "look down the rifle" sighting system?

I bought call of duty 3 and 4 for my kids, but I really enjoy them myself. Gave me the opportunity to learn about many weapons I'd never seen before.

For some odd reason the m21 always uses 10 round mags in COD4.
Although if you play multiplayer you unlock the m14 at level 46, it seems to be modeled on a scout platform with 20 round mag, and can be fitted with silencer, grenade launcher (Thats a bit iffy I grant you), Reflex sight or ACOG.

The best (most accurate) modern combat game I have ever played is actually a mod for Battlefield 2. It's called "Project Reality", and it's main purpose was to take all the "arcady" stuff out of BF2 and make it as realistic as possible. One of the weapon kits for the USMC is the "Marksman" kit, which includes the M14.
Best of all, this is a free mod (you do have to own the original BF2), and it's better than any commercial game out there.

My main issue with the M14 in CoD4 is the lack of full-auto (of course I found it annoying that the game lacks select-fire completely). Personally, the M21 is my sniper system of choice in the game, though it keeps reminding me that my rifle needs some more time on the range to get scoped in that well. :(
I would love the option of using a Sage or Troy system in a game though -- maybe CoD5? Someone needs to nudge the designers. :)

has anyone ever heard of a game called Armed Assault or Operation Flashpoint? it's 2 awesome games, Armed Assault is the new version of Operation Flashpoint... but the best i can describe the 2 games is military simulation games. You can be a sniper, officer, fly airplanes and helicopters, drive tanks and armored personel carriers, and of course they got a ton of small arms :)
Operation Flashpoint originally came with a M21 for the snipers, however various M14/M21/M25 type packs came along with OFP and Armed Assault.
Right now for the newest version of the game called Armed Assault they have a very good M14 pack that has various M14's from the "Vietnam" era as well as the modern version with the M21's. there was also a small pack (addon they call them) with a a single M25 that is cool.
What i like also in the game... they have a click adjustment addon, so I will zero the rifle for 500 meters or so and then start doing some long range shooting out to 1,000 m in the game, pretty fun hitting computer ai targets from afar and they are running around not knowing what hit them lol.
If you guys want to check out the games here are some links... www.flashpoint1985.com http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?newlang=eng http://www.armedassault.info/
here is an example of the M14 that is downloadable from various websites to use in the game http://www.armedassault.info/ftp/pic...s/m14sick1.jpg http://www.armedassault.info/ftp/pic...ns/m25bdd1.jpg http://www.armedassault.info/ftp/pic...ns/m14ebr1.jpg

Conflict Vietnam PS2
I used the M14 exclusively. I never used full auto , but I believe it was select fire.
Good game , but not on the level of COD4 , but it was before COD4.

Rainbow Six Series always seemed to have it intermingled.
The most recent one (vegas) not so much.
But I know R6 1-3 had it, or was available via mod or patch.

I dont remember which one it was, but one of the Hitman games has a level that involves the white house, and the white house is guarded by m14 toting dress blues wearing marines. and you can hook up with an m14 and blast away |

Delta Force: Blackhawk Down....pretty sure they have the M-21 in that game.
Of course, that one is a few years old and PC only, if I recall correctly.

Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 has an M14. It is a select fire rifle in the Sage EBR stock with a variable power (3x or 10x) scope and 20rnd mags. You can attach a silencer, flash light or laser sight to it. I personally think it is one of the best guns in the game as it allows for very effective close range combat in full auto, and accuracy for the out there shots.
It is alot of fun playing through a gmae with a M14 EBR in 1080P.
