Watched it last night on Encore! I love that movie. My dog though, is not a big fan of "The Gunny". First time I'd watched it in a while. During a few of the scenes while the good Gunny was calling marching cadences, my Golden Retriever Sam got up from behind the couch growling, walked to the TV and barked at the Gunny until the scene changed. Then did it again on another scene. Pretty funny. Forgot about the M14s throughout the movie. I pay a bit more attention now that I own one.

"Tonight you will sleep with your weapon, you will give your weapon a girls name......You are now married to this piece..........This weapon of Iron and wood........and you will be faithful!!! Do you ladies understand?"

"Full Metal Jacket" introduced me to my first love........My weapons name is "Laura".

Saw it last night on cable. I thought it was funny with Gomer shooting the M14. Talk about exaggerating the recoil... Did enjoy the movie in a different way now that I just bought an M1A. :)

No but i do watch it to hear the song "the birds the word" and "micky mouse". HAHAHA.

I think every one on this forum has watched it at one time just to see the M14s.

Good Shooting.

I have always wondered about that line.

I like the old school combo locks locking the rifles to the end of their bunks.

im sure you can tell by my screen name that i love that movie. i have seen it countless times. every night i used to put the dvd in just to watch the first portion with all the M14s and would always end up watching the whole movie. Stanly Kubrick is my favorite......every movie of his is an art piece. i could watch FMJ with the sound turned off, just to enjoy the compositions.
