Seecamp Conversion Colt 1911 disassembly

I have a Seecamp Conversion Colt Cbt Cdr 1911.

Before I attempt to disassemble and ruin something-

Anyone know if basic disassembly for cleaning is same a standard 1911?

Pistol was done by Seecamp.

Not going to attempt to disassemble the mechanism, just want to separate to main groups- frame, slide, barrel etc and clean.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

roger, I emailed Seecamp.

Jennifer from their customer service dept told me that they have no info on what was done by the "old" company. No knowledge about this conversion.

I emailed back that I was disappointed in that their website "about us" starts w/ the 1973 Seecamp conversion and that employee signature blocks talk 1973...

https://www.google.com/patents/US3722358 print photos of parts list

Taking everything into consideration, TSW's Seecamp Conversion does everything it claims to do. the unit itself is a rugged simple design that should prove to be very reliable, while workmanship involved in its installation was of a high standard. The lack of a firing pin block or a hammer lowering device means extra care needs to be exercised in loading, but the gun performed very well on the range in both the double and single action mode. The conversion unit should find favor with shooters who like the 1911 but want a double-action capability for practical defense. The cost of the conversion is around $200 and further information on it and the other services TSW Conversion provides can be obtained by writing to them at Dept, GA, East 115 Crain Road, Paramus, NJ 07652, phone (201) 265-1618
call and see if still in business. might have manual

I would think cleaning/oiling is the same as any std. 1911. That's frame, barrel, and slide I mean I don't take apart my fire control parts too clean mine up...

I have the Seecamp double-action conversion on my Combat Commander. Disassembly is exactly the same as usual. As long as you stay out of the trigger mechamism you'll be fine.

Thanks from Phil McGrath

Pollack/ Phil/ ripcord- gentlemen, thank you for the assistance.

Just now- Dave Wally, Seecamp new owner (2014) called me.
Explained that he received no info on this conversion from old owners. He even called them to ask.
Dave, thanks for personal attention-

I have the Seecamp conversion on my Detonics MK6. Same cleaning and lube as the standard single action pistols.

Pic of my Seecamp-converted Combat Commander. Ignore the Luger...this is the only photo I have of my EDC pistol.
