Darn,
Novaks sights and the full beaver tail to boot, along with all the other "Loaded" goodies. Envy,envy..
Mines just the plain Jane, mil. spec. model. But, it makes for a great travel companion. I don't travel without it, nor the 90lb. pit bull in the front cab. Oh, the bully he's the sweetheart in the group...
That pistol should be a really fine shooter, not bad for your "first" 1911... there will be more. What did SA have to say about it?.
I hope your biopsy goes well. I myself am on R&R from a laparoscopic hernia surgery three week ago today. It still hurts like hell, if I sneeze, cough and/or laugh. Take care of yourself and I hope all goes well for you. KS.

Thanks from Pipestoneinc

well, multiple 185gr chunks of lead and 90 pound pitbulls make a great deterrent! I love me some Pitbulls man, great dogs that get an undeserved amount of fear and hatred placed upon them.
I haven't gotten around to calling SA yet, been to busy with everything else that can't wait. it never ends man!

Thanks from XUSNORDIE

well, it's a shooter! I popped off a mag full today on my lunch break and I'm seriously impressed. being used to 9x18 and 9x19 pistols, this thing is a cannon. A surgically accurate cannon. It's very manageable with the 185gr Hornady XTP ammo I used. I'm definitely a 1911 fan from here on out. It doesn't get much better than a beautifully crafted firearm that functions flawlessly from the box, creates a shockwave when you squeeze the trigger and makes holes you could throw a cat through. it is a fine pistol by any standard, and it makes me finally understand what all the fuss is about concerning these 1911's.

lol, yeah I can see how a guy could get bit by that bug real easy! I always thought they were really pretty pistols, well built too. It's just tough to know the depth and breadth of the matter until you strip one down, see how it's machined and fitted together and actually operate the thing. I can now attest to their magnificence from a place of first hand experience.
Now I just have to find a good carry holster without breaking the bank!

Forum member Dwight will make you one that will last a lifetime. Hard to believe some guy made up the 1911 and carved a wood model before hand making one out of steel well over 100 years ago ain't it.

Dwight's Gun Leather, he made me a gun belt and it is very well made and was realistically priced.

Man, I feel for ya Kevin. I had bi-lateral inguinal hernia surgery about 3-4 years ago now (I think?). It was rough man. just take it easy as long as you can and don't even try to risk overdoing it or you will be laid up for days thinking about how you could have done things differently! that's one procedure recovery you have to do by the book in my opinion. Hope you get feeling 100% again soon man. -Paul

Kydex will rub the finish off the pistol quickly.

Thanks, I'll check him out as soon as I can squirrel away the funds for it. I was leaning more toward leather to begin with. It more comfortable any day of the week in my opinion. Yeah that's something isn't it? It is certainly a design that has stood against the test of time.

You can say that again over and over but it falls on deaf stubborn narrow minded ears.....even on this forum.....by the way if it is pure APBT then 90lbs means it needs to go on a diet!

Nice pistol.....stubby 45's have a special place in my heart......and pocket.....or hip......; )

Thanks from Pipestoneinc
