Do not consider the price. It should be borne in mind that in our country this weapon is almost impossible to find, SPRINGFIELD is no longer imported at most a few M1A at really prohibitive prices. The same holds true for the 1911s as COLT or SPRINGFIELD. The current models are REMINGTON (R1) or the model 1911 by RUGER and SMITH & WESSON (E series) for example or AUTO ORDNANCE.
I just wanted to know if this TROPHY MATCH is a famous weapon, especially compared to the current SPRINGFIELD models
thank you

I wouldn't call it famous, but it is a nice pistol and should be a great shooter. If you purchase it let us know how it shoots.

If it's got an ILS in the mainspring housing(arrow), I think it's made after 2000. Does it have Brazil written anywhere on the frame? Springfields are now made in the USA, and some say quality is improved.

Customer service representatives can take your call Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30 CST.

US: 1-800-680-6866

International: +1-309-944-5631

I found this. They can tell you when it was made.

I'm going too hazard a guess and say mid 1990 time frame or earlier, and I say this for a few reasons.

#1, Blocky dust cover.
#2, Blued finish.
#3, Non-altered frame tangs with rat tailed grip safety.
#4, Non-dove tailed front sight.

What's the first 3 digits for the ser. # ? a call too SAI with the ser. number and they will give the date it was shipped out the door.

Thanks from French Ranger and Rich D

I don't think that it is 'famous' in any way. The name 'Trophy Match' is just what it is 'named' by SAI.

I don't think it has been used to win any noteworthy trophies.
And it is not awarded as a trophy to the winner of USA Pistol National Matches.

It's just marketing to get you to pay more.
Nothing more than that.

What? my French is weak? The TM is a very desirable target related 1911 and should run well.
