Much as, in your face leftist tactics, hurt their causes.

Discretion and discipline is part of ownership. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it.

Most open carriers, are probably not veterans.

Don't be a jerk.
i live in georgia , see open carry daily. I was taught a long time ago don't advertise. Ie now nra or gun related stickers on my vehicles. no open catty or as i was taught hey look at Me or shoot me first!

Brian, with all due respect, that logic is not backwards. Simply put, if you cause enough concern among the population, someone will target your behavior by proposing legislation which just might be enacted. I'm not saying that they are correct or not. The fact of the matter is that you can expect a response. That response might not be what you bargained for. There are most definitely limitations to the right to bear firearms - that is not a matter of opinion, it is fact. I personally want to fly beneath the radar and keep the fact that I am armed to myself since I do not wish to surrender any tactical advantage and I do not want to stir up any level of fear in fellow citizens. I do not wish to have any unnecessary interactions with law enforcement and I do not want other citizens to see limitations to any of my rights as desirable.

In Mass open carry is considered to be "unofficially" illegal. There is nothing in state law that prohibits open carry but there are other issues. In Mass your local police department screens and approves you for a pistol permit and renewals of that permit. They will look at your history and if they find anything that indicates you "could" be a problem they can refuse to renew your LTC. Then you have to sue the PD in court.

Carrying a gun openly around here will definitely cause a public disturbance with a police response. If that gets back to your home town PD, they probably will not renew your LTC. Therefore we all carry concealed up here. It's the best way to carry IMO anyway.

To be fair our friends to the north, NH now has constitutional carry. I don't get it. The whole northern tier of New England is now constitutional carry and they are BLUE states? Not complaining but, WOW. In any case in NH you will also likely get a police response to open carry. They hide their guns up there too.

Regards,
Badger

The nice thing about Nv is you can have a fully loaded handgun or
loaded rifle with clear chamber in your vehicle.

I very, very rarely open carry... but I have done it and I'm glad I have the option in Georgia.

Sometimes... you do want it to be obvious you are armed.

Wasn't open carry in CA, unloaded open carry, before they banned it.

Unloaded open carry? That's like buying empty liquor bottles.

I'm glad open carry is legal in many states
Even though I prefer concealed carry personally
I'm glad some people open carry, if only to help keep our right to

Naturally there will always be a few who either open carry in less than ideal situations
Or worse, act out in ways that do hurt the cause

IMO this is the price of true liberty though
Just like not everyone should be able to drive or vote, even though they do
Not everyone should own let alone openly carry a firearm
Problem is, WHO determines who gets to?
Our government?

Thanks from sfc higgins

I must respectfully disagree, it most certainly is backwards, by that logic the Libtards can ban open speech in public and open practice of religion in public because someone is preaching on a street corner.

Rights are rights.

There are limits to the right to bear arms, but there should not be, that is not what the Founders intended.

The Supreme Court disagrees and they are the ones who determine what the Constitution (the work of the Founding Fathers) actually means.

I agree, it doesn't matter what little men with small minds say or intend. You notice how many here openly say that there's something inherently wrong when they see or know a man or woman exercises their God given Rights. Many States are seeing a resurgence of people demanding they restore Constitutional Carry (14 now) and it's working. There will be those who are weaker and huddle together squawking about the dangers or how much smarter they are...to no avail.

I was shocked at first to read the responses here of the few who say it's better to hide, keep your head down, never look anyone in the eyes, while pretending to believe in the better hide it scenario. HOWEVER I had to remind myself a lot of members are NOT firm believers in the United States Constitution or even know how to be free.

I'll stand with citizens who do know what freedom means and practice in their lives what the Bill of Rights tells us. If a small minded person tells you that you shouldn't do it or you look stupid living like a free person....stay away from fools who are nothing but slaves looking to huddle with other slaves.

There are a few members here who are men who actually practice what is written in the Bill of Rights. But there are those who still remain unconvinced about doing so.

If you ever see me.....I'm the guy who Open carries and goes about my life having a great time.

I'm with you, out in public I carry concealed.

When out on my property I carry open and I'll also carry a rifle a lot of times.

But in public why walk around with a Big Shoot Me First sign on your hip.
