Talking Crazy Uncle, strikes again.....

Yea, that's right he swung by again. But before I get into that Tuesday we went shooting and zeroed in his pop-guns (scoped Ar/15's) and asked if I had brought along my 1911. I told him no too lazy too reload any ammo (not in the budget but I didn't tell him that). So we shot a few down range with my 7.62 M1 and some 135SMK as he likes the zero recoil feeling.

Anyway he swings by in his usual manor just this Tuesday, helps himself too the pot of lifer juice and proclaims I have a box of stuff in the car that's too heavy for me too carry its yours so go and get it.

So I amble out too see what "GEM" he has drug over for me too throw away in the trash or later take too the dump. I don't see a big heavy box? He says its on the front floor, I spy down and see a smaller box open the door grab it and its got some heft too it. It then cracks open and a bunch of smaller boxes spill out on the floor board. And what do I see lay before me, 25 boxes of 20ct Fed Hydra-shok's 500rds total.

Now I'm not a Hydra-Shok guy, but I'm not going too pass up free ammo either. I asked what and where and how much he paid and he said he was out yard sailing and gave a whopping $40.00 for the whole box..

I then had too tell him this isn't plink ammo, he then informs me as cheap as he snagged it for it is now, so enjoy it. And no he would except reimbursement for them either...

So the plan is too shoot a box or two after I finish fitting my Kart barrel and see how well they run if they do well, keep a few boxes in reserve. If not there plinking fodder or trading stock..

Thanks from Tommo, 1KPerDay, Sweets and 3 others

Hello, Great score. A very thoughtful uncle you have here..
Sounds like some good trading stock. It would be a shame to use all that ammo for punching holes in paper. That's the ammo my 1911 is loaded with when I travel, along with two extra full magazines.
It is amazing what you can find at garage sales or swap meets, for almost nothing. If its a great deal, I'll pick it up for use or resale/trade purpose. One of my best bargains (not as good as your good fortune), was finding an unopened box of 1000 10mm cases for $10, which I traded to a friend for 5 pounds of H4895 powder. We here both happy... Plus, I don't own a 10mm.
Looks like you owe your uncle some more coffee and maybe some donuts for that visit...

Thanks from Phil McGrath

I'm setting pretty good on 7.62 and have the tools too reload for everything I have its just that .45 projo's are not in the budget brass primers, powder are all good too go.

Until I get things fixed with vehicles I own, I will have too suffer or live vicariously threw others. In the mean time I'm trying too adj. his M14 parts radar.

Always been a Black Talon shooter, but I've also never used Hydra-Shok either so I can say if there good or not. However I promise too give then a fair shake.
