Anyone have a Sig P320C

My wife and I took our daughter to the range at West Coast Armory in Bellevue WA yesterday for her birthday. After we were finished I found my wife looking at hand guns in the display case. She is thinking about getting her own pistol. She is 5'3" and 115 lbs and handles my M1911 45 easily and would like to find something in 45 cal. I have custom grips on my 1911 to fit my large hands which make it hard for her to hold.
After looking at several guns she liked the Sig P320C in 45 acp. Anyone familiar with this pistol? Comments/recommendations?
Brian

It will handle very differently that your 1911 I'm sure you know. The weight is what tames the 45 ACP.
Putting that round into a Poly frame will increase the recoil and she might not like it as much.
Have her try the 9mm in the same pistol(320c)...I know, I know, it's not a 45 but with the carry ammo these days,...it's a enticing option.

I don't think there is a better frame out there that does the 45 ACP as much justice as the 1911.

Brian, I would try to find a range that rents out pistols and let her shoot a few differnt models and calibers. This way she can get exactly what she wants. The more she likes it the more she will want to go shoot it intern the more you can go shooting! Plus it a reason to go shoot a bunch of guns y'all haven't shot yet. Win win situation.

Thanks from POLACK

check out the glock single stack 45 or 9mm. small and compact for concealed carry, p230c looks nice

Awards Showcase

For the longest time, I couldn't get used to the higher bore axis on Sigs. So much so, I wouldn't bother shooting my friend's extensive collection. At a show, I held the P320 and it felt right.

I ended up grabbing a P320C in 9mm. I am glad I did. It doesn't have, or seem to have, as high of bore axis as other sigs. It has one of the better triggers out of the box; glock can't touch it. I have talon grips and recently dropped in an Apex trigger for the helluva it (definitely didn't need to).

I've carried it daily but i do have to be conscious of printing. As such, I've picked up an M&P shield in 9mm. When I get more rounds through it, I'll probably carry it.

You didn't state what she wanted to use it for. If it's range or HD use, P320 all day long. To carry, I'd look at the shield.

As mentioned earlier, getting range time with a rental will serve her well.

Thanks everyone. The range we shoot at has the P320C in 9mm so we will rent that the next time we go. She will only use the pistol for target shooting but will probably carry it when she takes the horses trail riding. She did handle various other pistols including the shield and glocks and felt the sig was best for her. I discussed with her at the range that starting with a comfortable grip her skills would improve.

The big surprise for me has been that in the first 43 years we were married she would never shoot anything. Two years ago when I took my daughter she went along and decided she would try it, started with a 22 and jumped to the 45 and loved it.
