Not so common CZ Compact

I've been seeing these at a gunshow (same vendors but no one seems to be buying them and I sure didn't need any more pistols - I've got some old Camaros that need some love & money).

I was looking for/at something else the other day and while I was talking to the shop owner I looked down and sure enough, there was one in the display case. Man, did I hate that. I told him we might as well start filling out the paperwork on the CZ Compact, so he gave me the forms to fill out.

It looks like a P01, but it isn't. It has a steel frame, not an aluminum frame. It has the oval depression in the frame on the right side, around the slide release pin, just like a P01. It does not have the vertical cuts in the front and rear of the grip frame like a P01 has. It has the upturned spur below the hammer like the full sized SP01 which is different than the P01 or the regular steel framed compact.

I've read only 500 were imported and they don't show up on the CZ USA website as an available pistol/product. Some kind of contract over run for a European country/police force.

Anyway, I pulled out the credit card and brought it home with me..

Thanks from geepee3, Dougboffl and MrM1A

That was nice of you to give that poor pistol a good home.

You know, I tried to explain that to my wife but she just didn't understand that reason.

Then I said, "Babe, you know how I am about rare, pretty things, I like to have them, after all I've still got you don't I?"

Then she smiled and hugged me and everything was alright.

Hahaha! My wife would never believe me if I told her that!

That is interesting.
Tombstone Tactical has that version on their web site. Out of stock...
I have seen the CZ P-01's alloy frames with CZ 75 Compact or CZ 75 D compact slides.
That is a unique beast you have there.
Congratulations on the new CZ.
Range report please.

Thanks.
Glenn
