First time shooting the new IDPA classifier

like it but I sucked. Last two years I've shot the classifier I used a Glock 41 so I can classify in three divisions with one classifier and shot Expert. This time I shot my P226 In SSP and shot SS. Raw time was 82 seconds but with points down I was over the SS limit. Don't think I'll ever shoot Master. The super fast guys who always win and are Masters barely squeaked into Master time by half a second. Supposed to be easier but not sure it is. They scored the new head circles though and I read later that they aren't supposed to until 2018. Unless I misunderstood. Fun match though. Rained all day.

As long as ya had fun that's all that matters ! Its a big change really going from a Striker to a Hammer fired gun,,that 1st shot is always different ! I am always switching and it drives my buddy crazy,,LOL I go from my VP9 to my CZ SP-01 and then back the next time,,LOL I don't care,,I'm slooow, blind and don't run ! IDPA is fun but to many stupid rules for me and some guys "REALLY" love to enforce them. I'm always safe but those imaginary lines and reloads behind cover, tactical order or order of threat its called I think, etc,,sometimes,,hell most times I'm my own worst enemy,,but I do it cuz it gets me out and its fun ! (Kinda) I lean more towards USPSA cuz its more shooting per stage and less rules ! Still kinda crappy around these parts but several ranges have been trying to run some but we keep getting rain/snowed out,,most places got over 3ft a couple weeks ago ! Its finally getting warm and snow is melting, so will be hitting the matches and range soon ! Keep it up,,its all good !

They eliminated cover calling and have to place fault lines now. Might want to check out the new rules.

Yea,,I will. I have a buddy that is a speed freak and knows all the rules and get the magazine and is a IDPA member and has been for years and he keeps me informed for the most part, just haven't talked about the new stuff yet very much. I knew there are some New rules and changes so that's cool. He said its getting more like USPSA,,LOL I said cool should be more fun ! Even thought I am a NY guy we are lucky, if you want to you can shoot a match every weekend with a drive from 20 min to a little over a hour,,not really a bad thing. Normally there are a few of us and we make a good day out of it ! We will get going here soon for sure ! I'll be out there plodding along with the rest of the flat footed blind Old guys,,LOL Its shooting and its competitive, keeps the mind & skill set sharp, its all good !

they also eliminated Tactical Sequence

and you can reload while moving and engage targets in the open now, where you had to find cover before.

I think.

I was just getting my head wrapped around the old rules, and then they updated them. LOL

I really have only shot the Glock during one 3-gun and the 2 classifiers... I don't like losing .45 brass

I generally shoot the SIG for IDPA and basic "handgun" matches including Man-versus-man and steel challenge stuff. I like it and shoot it well (except for the classifier).

I shoot an M&P Core 9L in open/unlimited division.

I need to practice draw/first round stuff with the SIG more.

Wanted to get back at ya but been busy for a day or so ! I hear ya on losing 45 brass,,I always liked and saved the Small pistol primer brass and used them for matches and places where I didn't pick up my brass ! You sound as bad as me switching guns,,LOL I do it cuz I like to,,,no big deal. When I do switch though I always practice the week or at least a few days before just to get the feel back for that gun !
That's cool that they got rid of the tactical sequence I'll probably get it right now,,LOL For your brass needs I have been looking at these guys lately,,they seem very fair priced and run free shipping and sales every now and then. I have not bought from them yet cuz I have more brass than I will ever need but have been wanting to grab some just to check them out. https://www.justreloading.com/

Thanks from 1KPerDay
