Man, I like that! Also wouldn't mind one of the PTR91 GI models, except I want the one without the rail. That little MKE pistol is cool, and will make a great SBR. My biggest beef with the SBR thing is that I like to take mine back across state lines to shoot with my brother, and having to fill out paperwork and get Daddy .Gov's permission every time I do it is absurd, so I don't bother. If (and I don't expect it to happen) the new administration does away with some of these stupid laws, then there would be some chopping going on at my place, as I have a couple that would make fine SBRs, but as of now I don't want the hassle.

Getting suppressors off of the tax stamp list stands the best chance, and I'm still not holding my breath. Hopeful, but not getting my hopes up too high.

Thanks from Glashaus

These are $1,724.00, like I said, a little pricey, I justified it as using 2 months of firearms budget and adding to it from the tax return

Timely discussion, I am just sizing up making a 2-stage MP5 trigger. It'd be a complete drop in with a total redesign of the sear system. This should be a sweet setup once done.

Starting with a redesign, I can make a cage that has tight tolerences, I'll eliminate a bunch of legacy FA design elements, move to clock springs over linear springs, revise the sear geometry .... this will be good.

My wife hates you right now LOL. I've been looking at these for a while, you're write up cemented it.
This would be my first HK clone. Which parts would you recommend for 922(r) compliance? Sear, hammer, trigger, handguard, stock, cocking handle?

Great post!!!

Thanks from Glashaus

I will have to do some research on that, one nice thing now is that there are quite a few US made parts for these.

It would make everyone's live easier if the whole 922r thing could be defined as applying to the original import of the firearm. Really, who cares and what difference does it really make at the consumer level, except to the 922r police.

Now, we all know that a hammer and trigger made in Turkey/Germany/Russia/Bulgaria/etc. is far more dangerous and deadly than a hammer and trigger made in the United States. It's not like they perform the same function or anything.
