Sig is a great sidearm. I hated Glocks for the longest time. They're ugly....no.....make that FUGLY, top heavy as heck and generic looking in addition to being fugly. until I shot my buddy's 23C. I was complaining about how akward and clunky Glocks were and he said you need to shoot mine. so I invited him over to the house and we did some shooting. It had had a trigger job and a great magnaporting done on the barrel. which, coupled with the smaller more ergonomic frame of the 23C, got rid of all my typical complaints about Glocks inherent faults and made it a pleasure to shoot. All that being said....I'm still a "Commie Pistol" fan boy. I have yet to find anything on this earth more durable and less troublesome than a Russian made Makarov. yes I am well aware of the modest magazine capacity. I still love em'!

my favorite

eta: Nobody should be running around with pistol that has the safety in the trigger, just my opinion, but that isn't safe. It's one reason I like XD pistols.

My biggest problem with glock is the grip angle, but then again I was used to a 1911.

I like and have several Sigs but is it just me or does anyone else remember back, pre-2012-Newtown, when AR-type rifles were selling like crazy and for big money, Sig had decided they would lean away from the pistol market since pistols were lower profit and more warranty headaches. Sig had decided to become a company focused on rifles. Kinda interesting how they are now back at the pistols.

Sig has had poly guns since 1998 (SP2022/Pro) & the 2007 design P250.

Yep, sold mine too for the same reason

Not the first time one contractor would complain about another contractor getting awarded a contract.

I'm not getting the popcorn out yet.

Any time you have a government trial award contract procurement whatever process you can "contest" it which is basically an audit. Companies always do this because the government is known to play favorites.

This is what I love about this place. OP posts an article about brand A and Brand B. A few posts later some trouble maker uses the thread as an excuse to bash Brand X. Isn't that Off Topic? Wouldn't that come under the infraction of "Trolling". Different rules for different fools

later, dozer

p.s. I shot my sons Model 21
p.p.s. I'd rather have a 1911

Thanks from conditionone

I've always viewed the glock as a pistol that requires extensive training in how not to shoot it.

I don't think Glock meets the requirements for a modular handgun with a manual safety that is made in the US.

Maybe it's not trolling if that was the intent of the OP in the original post to poke fun at the brand. It seems that some folks like to make jokes about the Glock, like their pistols have something to prove.

Now I should give credit to one guy recently who decided to share some negativity on the Kimber 1911, as if they were somehow different from the tons of other 1911s out there. I saw this as a moment of fairness.

We used to have a Glock hater's thread around here somewhere. I don't see why that's not being used.
