I like mine better the more I play with it. Nothing quite like the GI look on a 1911. Sounds like you have a good one. Should show a picture of it.

I like that holster! I swapped the plastic grips for a set of plain checkered wood. Nothing wrong with the issue but I just prefer wood most of the time. If you have to move the rear sight prepare for a bit of work, its very tight in the dovetail.

I might have to send this one back, it just wont shoot! Tried some Power Pistol today along with my 6.1grs of Unique load, both shoot well. PP was good from 6.3 to 7.1 grs with 6.5 coming in best, two great five shot groups. The red target is two full mags with the Unique load. All at 50' benched, indoors.

Put another 50 flawless rounds thru mine today, handloads. After loading I run my loads thru the LEE factory crimp die which sizes the whole round down to spec for good feeding. I really like this pistol. I see a couple other members grabbing them now too, think they will be pleased.

Unhappy

At least your AO is made by a gun company! You can hold your head up at the range.

I'm stuck with this thing made by a typewriter & shaver company! Oh the shame of it all!

Lol....I never paid attention to who made the 1911's I first shot in the Navy for Watch Stander quals and Marksmanship ribbon shoots. Nor did I know much about them then anyway. Assumed they were all "Colt". My second command, FITRON TWO ONE (F14 Squadron), all we had was S&W MOD 39's. They were fun, and I actually came to like them. Only 1911's I saw were on the hips of the SAMIS's running the range and security dept. Then I got the Golden Orders for an Ordie......SAMI SCHOOL.....which opened up orders to Weapons Dept, Range/Armory Division....had to play Armorer for a stint until an instructor billet popped open. Man when I started looking at all the 1911 pistols in the Armory safes I was baffled.......Singer? Ithaca? Remington? Signal Corps?.....where were the Colts?.....and who the hell is Rand?....lol

Got the FedEx delivery notification this afternoon that my AO made it to my LGS......but couldn't get there before closing due to work/traffic.

Can't wait to check it out.....although a "almost" mil-spec 1911 with a series 80 type firing pin block sort of gives me the willies......like sleeping naked next to a Glock or something.....MEH....my kid will never know.....lol
