Was able to get my hands on of those p320s. Feels good, shoots good. Trigger was far better than of my glock 17. I liked the balance of the gun and that it is "closed" compared to the M9. Should be easier to keep dust out. Contrary the glock is smaller and lighter which I think is beneficial when I see how much gear soldiers have to carry around these days.
What I don't understand: SOCOM chose the glock 19 and I think they know what they are doing. With only a single model training and suppliying replacement parts would have been easier. For me the p320 can't do more than a glock but it is a good gun if it proves to hold up in adverse conditions. The downside: compared to a M9 it is butt ugly.
