Going on some memory but a good example would be the Philippine-American War when we sent soldiers armed with the 38 didn't take long to figure out the round just didn't knock them down, so they had to rush older stores of 45LC into that conflict that would get the job done. It also eventually led to our adoption of the 45ACP
Nothing has changed since than.

To quote the character Tom Selek played on Magnum PI "let's see how your 250 lbs stops this 45."

Heck no. I was referring more so towards the philosophy of a 230 gr. JHP insofar as it expand to such a large diameter in such a short span.
Did you perhaps mean the Golden Saber ? I carry those in my FNX-45 Tactical truck gun and last summer on vacation destroyed a big azz feral hog that wanted to eat my azz ! 'bout blew his head into a million pieces !! Mostly mush.

Thanks from Willard

I believe Speer makes the gold dot hollows, not sure who loads them commercially.

The goal of YouTube channels like Yankee Marshal is to draw viewers to his videos so he can earn ad revenue. One of the marketing tools at his disposal is to say something stupid or controversial to annoy viewers enough it causes them to share the video. He's probably not as stupid as he comes across. He's just trying to get your goat ... and I suspect he's collected a pasture full of goats by now.

Personally, I like .45 ACP. It's hard not to respect a pistol cartridge adopted for its ability to stop a charging horse.

I think the Gold Dot was a Remington bullet and the Ash Can was a Speer product.

I've heard that term before but have found a better use for a .45 hollow point. When I'm at a job site without a porta potty I just pop a round out of the magazine.
