Sorry I can't do pictures but I carry my Smith and Wesson 629 generaly stuck down in front waist band on left side if I'm just around the yard or out in the back lot but if I go into town and need to be less conspicuous I will stick it down in the back where my wallet will break up the outline a little although I did have a lady once while waiting in line at the dollar store point at it and in what should be her outside voice said what is may I ask is that so I just smiled as I had my teeth in and said mam that is the nicest firmest buttocks you will ever see on an old man ,wanna touch it ? I know the experts say you aren't suppose to carry that way and I didn't use to but my wife gave me some of them sorta long legged spandex drawers for Christmas ( shes been trying to get me to go from boxers to breifs for years ) and she just knew I wouldn't like em so I just smiled and said darn I've been wanting me some of these concealed carry drawers sice I saw them in American Rifleman ,she said but that's not what ,I didn't let her finish I just went right to the bed room and put them suckers on drug that big ole 44 out stuck it in my waist band and walked back into the living room where she was trying to explain things to her very very liberal daughter and less liberal but scared of his wife son in law ( my step daughter and step son in law ) anyway I just walked right in like big ole fat French model would walk in modeling something and said dang these suckers are comfortable thank you so much now I don't have to carry a mouse fart gun oh oh I'm sorry a mouse breaking wind gun and grinned great big ,my 12 year old step grandson who just loves guns and knives and such was just laying in tne floor laughing and well I been carrying like that ever since .sorry about being long winded but I didn't want you guys to think I'm a moron or something .
I wear shorts a good portion of the year and have been carrying concealed for about 40 years. Like others I ran through the large vs small caliber options and came up with a decent solution for me. My primary carry was a G23 in an Uncle Mikes IWB holster but that is seldom used now. I did acquire a relatively small (not really pocket size) Wather PPS in 40 S&W that I carry IWB in a High Noon holster. This is also available in 9 mm. I do not often carry a pocket pistol as a primary weapon but do have a G42 in a pocket holster that is very small.
Lots of choices out there and you need to carry what is comfortable for you after you are satisfied with its reliability.
Yes I know its a sissy plastic pistol but.... A friend of mine who is a former Ranger, Law enforcement, and currently in Iraq doing some contract work suggested a S & W Shield. I was floored. Well they run a sale and I picked one up for about 300. I like the controls, No its not a range gun but its perfect for a light, pocket gun. I got mine in 9MM but they also come in 380. I do not love the gun , I'm a 1911 guy to the corps but it does serve the purpose. Yeah I read the part where you hate S&W, I do too and I still bought it. So this is worth checking out
