I love my Gen 3 Glock 21. I also love my Canadian Para P-14. Both double stack 45's. I like the grip on the Para so much more. I found a guy at a LGS that fills the Glock grip void and then removes the hump. He finishes it with a texture on the grip. I felt his and if my eyes were closed I would not have been able to tell the difference between a 1911 and Glock in my hand besides weight. It's $300 ish but when I have the extra money I am having it done.

that is the same reason why I haven't owned a Glock until the Gen 4 came out. now I love it. all others need not apply.

Cleaning Glocks

Sure...strip it down to barrel, slide and frame then stick them in the dishwasher - tongue in cheek - but you can do this and not harm your Glock as long as you properly lubricate it afterward.

However, I don't know what effect that would have on the tritium night sights.

My G19 gen4 is having occasional failures to feed and eject. It has the correct 043 recoil spring, 32074 ejector and new extractor. Its happening on cheaper 115gr ammo which I'm assuming is the culprit, however my CZ never had issues with any type of ammo and my older gen 2 Glock 17 didn't care either. It cant be the mags either since it happens with all four of them and all four are proper oem 15 rd magazines from Glock. Thinking about trading it in for a gen 3 Glock 17 or maybe even a Glock 21 just to change it up a bit. Thoughts?

Smaller pistols typically have higher rate springs than larger ones which can be finicky with weak ammo. You could try an older 19 spring assembly from midway or just put 500 rounds of not-crappy ammo through it and then see if it loosens up a bit.

Gen 4s have the proprietary dual recoil spring. They do sell aftermarket ones but I'd like to keep it all factory. I don't have issues with 124gr ejection but the occasional failure to feed is kind of confusing to me as well. My pistol has 1200+ rounds through it since I bought it new. These fte/ftf issues are sort of recent.

mine will feed, fire, and eject any 9mm ammo ive fed it, including the cheap stuff, which I prefer when I compete on base.

I have 4 reasons to like Glocks, my G17, G19, G22 and G23! I did not think much of Glocks until I started shooting them, it is hard to judge them if you don't use them! I felt the same way about the Beretta M92/M9. Now I really enjoy shooting my M92!

Yup...same here. I was one of the more vocal critics of Glocks until I noticed while I was clearing malfunctions in my Para Ordnance P-14 the Glock shooters were sending rounds down range.

I thought the 1911 was the 1911 of the 20th century?
I love this forum.

I sell glocks

I sell glocks to cops...all day everyday... and I own two. My favorite thing about Glock is how easy they are to field strip, make minor repairs and install sights onto. I can field strip glocks so fast that I once heard a guy out side my office say to his buddy "Hey come check this chick out, shes like jason borne with boobs" I dont think he meant for me to hear, and maybe I should have been offended but honestly I just thought to myself "hell yeah i am" lol. Glocks make me look good, make me feel safe at home and I also feel safe knowing that 90% of the LEO's in my state are carrying Glocks. :)

Well then I'll be the first to admit I have dated and been with many chicks that I wish were wearing a Glock at certain times if that is true.....; )

"They" said my SW99/.40 was "ugly" too, but I Love it like guys love their Glocks. Only problem is getting the modified magazines (official S&W mod) $30.00 ea. on cdnn which is the only place I've seen the 2nd ver. 12 rd. e-bays too or GB rarely.

This probably will never be a problem with Glocks.

I put 200+ rounds through my duty G17 today, in the pouring rain, and not a single hiccup as usual. Water was running right through my holster while the pistol was in it. I was soaked to the bone on the range.......love it!

Have fired Glocks for years now, have had stoppages from time to to time. Tap/rack and I am almost always back in the game immediately.
